Come with us to rest and reconnect in the heart of the Montserrat valley. We will stay at a country house surrounded by beautiful views and acoustic cleanliness which create the perfect environment for a few days of personal recharging; supported by the daily Pilates sessions, mindfulness meditation, massages, walks in nature, baths in the pool, healthy and natural food and loads of free time to enjoy.

We want to bring to you the benefits of the Pilates Method and Mindfulness Meditation in a privileged environment, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, creating a space which will allow us to (re)connect with our bodies, our sensations, our feelings and the surrounding nature without a hurry.

Let’s get all curious again about conscious movement, slow conversations and peaceful strolls along the river.

Where will it take place?

We have found an ideal and very special place where this Pilates and Mindfulness Meditation retreat will come true. Hort de la Riera is a beautiful country house set amongst almond trees, oaks, and the fragrances of aromatic plants, it boasts large and collected outdoor spaces in perfect symbiosis with the fields and surrounding forests.

The house has a beautiful garden to sunbathe with an outdoor pool where we can enjoy the silence, a good book, the company of friends and the shade of the trees.

During the retreat you'll be able to freely enjoy all the facilities in the property: the swimming pool, the living room, the sports and leisure area...

The old barn has been repurposed into the Sala Ambar, a magnificent studio fully equipped for our movement activities. It is a diaphanous and cozy space, with green and leafy views through its windows. Here our Pilates practice will take place every morning and evening.

L'Hort de la Riera has a variety of beautiful dwellings all with ensuite bathrooms and glorious views to the mountains. All come fully equipped with bed linen, blankets, towels and summer ventilation system.

The price of the retreat will depend on the type of accommodation chosen: single room, double room or shared room (4 people), so there’s sure an option for everyone.

Type and level of classes

Sessions are suitable for all levels

We love mixed groups where to give options to each person according to their abilities and needs. Whether you have a lot, little or no experience in Pilates, our goal is to find an efficient, challenging and rewarding way to move for each and every one. There is a Pilates for all, and you will have 2 teachers taking care of everybody’s needs.

The classes are Pilates Mat and, sometimes, we will use some props (elastic bands, balls, etc.). We practice and teach a Pilates modality that qualifies as contemporary, based on the work of Joseph H. Pilates, but modernising and adapting the exercises so that they conform to modern research and with a great influence of physiotherapy and biomechanics.

The Teachers

We are Gladys and Inês, we are both trained by Polestar Pilates and have been practicing and teaching in Barcelona and neighbouring areas for several years. We agree with the idea that the best Pilates is practiced in nature, and that is why we value and enjoy retreats so much, as it is a fantastic way to break routine habits and get in touch with oneself in beautiful natural spaces.

Other activities during the Retreat

Mindfulness Meditation and Practices for everyday life

We will practice guided Mindfulness Meditations as well as engaging in some Mindfulness exercises and practices for everyday life. This will complement and enhance our Pilates experience and general wellbeing. It is not necessary any previous knowledge in meditation, because we are all mindful beings, to be fully present is a basic human ability. We just need to cultivate it and while on the retreat we will have the opportunity to do so.

Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we are doing, and not be overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us. Therefore, Mindfulness is a natural quality that we all have. It’s available to all of us in every moment if we take time to appreciate it. When we practice Mindfulness we are practicing the art of creating space for ourselves, space to breathe, space between ourselves and our reactions.

Shiatsu Massage Workshop

Yordi Condal will facilitate a group session where we will develop body awareness through practices based on the Japanese “Shiatsu” massage. We will work through the body with mobilizations, stretching, pressures with thumbs and palms on the energy lines that run through it.

For the workshop it will be necessary to wear comfortable clothes and we will work on the floor on a futon.

Sound Bath

One of our nights will take place a very special activity that will not leave anyone indifferent. A guided meditation followed by a sound bath with quartz and tibetan singing bowls by Yordi Condal. It will be a bath of presence, a conscious practice of the here and now. The session consists of a brief introduction with a free activation dance of about 10 minutes that links with the sound bath of about 45 minutes. It ends in wide silence that opens again to a soft and nutritious heartfelt dance.

The sound, state of creation of matter and space. We are sound, we are a whole of frequencies in a unique and unrepeatable melody of musicality. Every being in every moment is vibrating, resonating with all existence. To refine your sound, to refine your soul, is to synchronise your frequency in a free will of Existence, Consciousness and Bliss.

Shiatsu Body Therapy in Motion

Yordi Condal offers individual sessions of body awareness through Shiatsu in Motion. This is a holistic therapy of Japanese origin based on the energetic balance of body and mind. It works through the body with mobilisations, stretches, pressures with the thumbs and palms on the energy lines that run through it. Its purpose is to correct the imbalances, maintain and promote health by enhancing the capacity for self healing that we all possess.

Yordi Condal has trained for 3 years in the Shiatsu School in Motion of Barcelona and in several seminars with Ideo Asai from Shiatsu Zen of Massunaga.

The sessions with Yordi have an extra cost and we advise you to book in advance: (30€ - 50 minutes, 20€ - 30 minutes)

Example day

The schedule may have some slight adjustments from one day to another depending on the activities and the group, however, we intend to maintain a general itinerary. A typical day during the retreat would be like this:

All activities are voluntary, you decide the intensity and depth of your retreat.

General Information


We speak English, Spanish, Portuguese and Catalan. During the retreat, classes will be taught in the language that the majority of participants understand with the needed translations.


Our meals will be vegetarian inspired by the Mediterranean diet, cooked with natural and organic ingredients. We will enjoy a fresh and seasonal diet that will help you detox the body, the cells and the mind.

We can adapt to certain diet requirements (allergies, intolerances, etc), we just need to know about it in advance.

Throughout the stay fresh water, coffees, teas, herbal teas, seasonal fruit and snacks will be always available.

How to get there?

L'Hort de la Riera is located 4 km from Manresa.

By car: Check the map to calculate the best route.

By train and/or bus: you have to get to Manresa.
We can organise a pick-up service from Manresa to the location by previously arranging the arrival times. You can also take a taxi from the train station.

In the event of cancelling between 60 and 45 days before the start we will give you a refund of the 50% of the total.
